Trek Bicycle return policy

We want you to love your purchase from trekbikes.com. If you don't and it's within 30 days of purchase, we will take it back without any additional charges or hassle*. Think of it as a 30-day test ride.  If you have any questions regarding your purchase, just contact us. 


If your purchase was in-store, returns are subject to individual retailer restrictions. Please direct any questions regarding your in-store purchases to your Trek retailer. 


To qualify for an online return: 

The item(s) must have been purchased from trekbikes.com. 

The return must be requested within 30 days of purchase. 

Proof of purchase must be provided upon request. 

Bike returns must be received in like new condition. 

For returns to be processed, the following must be received: 

• Returned item
• Packing list
• Reason for return

Bikes must have been purchased using Trek's ship-to-home delivery method.

Returning a Bike

• With few exclusions*, returning your bike is free. We want you to love your purchase, so we want returns to be easy.
• If your bike was never taken out of the box, please use the return label that came with the bike.
• If your bike was assembled or ridden:

• If you picked it up from a shop, or the shop delivered it to your home – please bring the bike back to the shop.

• If you received the bike directly to your home from trekbikes.com, and needed to complete assembly, please disassemble the bike and repackage it in the box it came in. Use the return label provided with the bike to return it.

• For instructions on how to reassemble and repackage your bike, please view our returns video on the bike assembly page.

Reassemble and repackage a bike return

• If you received the bike directly to your home from trekbikes.com and do not feel comfortable disassembling the bike and repacking it, please bring it to your local shop for help. Some shops may charge for disassembly and repackaging. They can use the provided return label.

• Packages labeled with the included return label can be dropped off at any one of over 2,200+ Purolator drop-off locations. A pickup can be requested by calling 1 888 744-7123 or through the live chat on www.purolator.com.

• For all batteries sold and shipped separately from a bike, please return the battery to your nearest Trek retailer.
• *Fetch+ 2, Fetch+ 4, Allant+, Loft, and Ponto Go! are excluded from free return shipping. It is always free to return your bike to your local Trek retailer.  Please contact Customer Care for help with return of these bikes.

Returning electric bikes

Shipping e-bikes has some additional requirements that must be met prior to returning. Before sending your e-bike back, refer to the questions and guidelines below.

• To be eligible for returns, E-Bikes MUST be returned in their original box. If you do not have your original bike box, visit your local retailer. Find your retailer here.
• Has the e-bike's primary battery been damaged? Examples of damage may include;

- Large dents to the battery casing.
- Exposed wires.
- Signs of melting or overheating.
- Water damage.

• If your battery is damaged, please return the battery to the nearest Trek retailer. They will safely recycle the battery.

- A damaged battery cannot be shipped/returned for a refund.

• If your battery has not been damaged:

- The battery must be installed on the e-bike in its operating position.
- The battery must be powered off.
- The e-bike must be repackaged in a way that prevents accidental activation by securing the non-drive crank arm to the frame with tape or the velcro strap provided with the original packaging. (Refer to repackaging instructions to meet this requirement).

Returning Non-Bike Products

All parts and accessories orders can be returned to participating Trek retailers.

If you are unable to return the item to a retailer, please call us at 1-800-585-8735 or chat with us on trekbikes.com and reference your order number and we can create a return label for you.

Refunds

If a refund is initiated, the refunded amount will be credited to the original payment method used at the time of purchase. Refund credits usually appear on your account within 10 days, but may take up to 30 days depending on your bank. 

Holiday Return Policy 

Orders placed on Trekbikes.com between November 24th and January 1st are eligible to be returned through January 31st.

We'll take care of you! Trek and Bontrager goods are covered by warranty policies and return programs that ensure you can buy with confidence and enjoy your purchase to the fullest.
