The TQ battery charges in 2 hours with the supplied TQ charger.

Is the battery removable?

The battery is removable by an authorised Trek dealer. Do not try and remove the battery at home.

Can you swap for a bigger battery?

No, the FX+ 7 frame was designed to fit the 360 Wh battery from TQ. Larger capacity batteries typically have larger dimensions that will not fit in the frame. Additionally, the system is programmed to only work with the 360 WH TQ battery we’ve selected. Do not swap or use non-approved batteries on your Trek ebike to maintain safety and compliance.

What if I want more range?

We offer the TQ Range Extender that fits into a water bottle cage and adds an additional 160 Wh of battery life (160 Wh Range Extender + 360 Wh Internal battery) and increases your range.

How does this compare to the FX+ 2 model?

FX+ 2 is also a lightweight commuter e-bike model that utilises our Hyena Hub-drive system. While both are lightweight, the FX+ 7 has a larger battery (360 Wh vs 250 Wh), more torque (40 Nm vs 50 Nm), and more integration of lights, mudguards and a Quad Lock charging mount. If you are looking for a lightweight ebike without the additional range, integration and power of FX+ 7 – the FX+ 2 might work for you.

How does this compare to the Allant+ Models?

These models utilise a Bosch a Bosch mid-drive system instead of the TQ system on the FX+ 7. Typically, the Allant+ models will have higher battery capacity and torque specs than the FX+ 7 but the tradeoff will be weight. Allant+ models are usually 4.5 to 5.44 kg heavier than the FX+ 7. If light weight is a priority for your commute, the FX+ 7 is ideal. If you need more range without and extender or more power, you might want to explore the Allant+ family.
