Tucked neatly behind the bike’s cassette, Hyena’s HyDrive lightweight rear hub motor assists you the moment you start pedalling. It intuitively detects your input to provide a smooth 40 Nm of torque that adds ease and speed to your ride and naturally drops power when you coast for handling that feels just like a traditional bike. Plus, it’s so compact you can hardly see it, and it can be customised with the HyDrive app.

One smooth ride

Hyena systems use a torque sensor that acts as a real-time motion detector. When force is applied to the pedals, it sends this data to the system controller where Hyena’s smart e-bike algorithm uses your pedalling input to deliver smooth support.

The Trek-exclusive Hyena battery features a lightweight, compact design that fits neatly inside the bike frame for a look that mirrors a traditional bicycle while reducing weight for easy handling, storing or travelling.

Hyena e-bike batteries are built for the long haul, so you can cover seemingly endless miles ahead – but most importantly, they’re checked for safety. All Hyena e-bike batteries are rigorously tested by third-parties and UL-certified to give you peace of mind whether you’re on a ride or your bike is parked in the garage.

When you want to take the long, long, long road home, you can give your Hyena battery an extra boost with a Trek-exclusive Range Extender. Simply plug in the 250 Wh extender to double your assisted distance.

The Hyena HMI LED controller has a minimalist design that only displays the most important information, like speed, battery life and support level, so you can focus on the ride and skip distracting data. Its clean and simple buttons let you easily change modes while you pedal.

Manage your e-bike, get over-the-air system updates, or use your phone as an e-bike display with the Hyena Rider Assistant app. Within the app you’ll be able to view your riding history, estimated range and more. Plus, all e-bike information is synced to the e-bike cloud, so you’ll never lose your precious data.
