Men's clothing sizing

Measurements on the sizing chart reflect the actual measurements of the body’s circumference (not product’s measurements). Use a cloth measuring tape to measure your body. All measurements should be taken while standing up straight with feet shoulder width apart. For maximum accuracy, take measurements next to skin.

Determining your Trek and Bontrager shoe size

The perfect bike shoe for you may be a different size to your favourite street or athletic shoes. Grab a piece of paper, a pencil and a friend, and follow the instructions below for a simple step-by-step guide to measuring your feet at home – no offficial device needed.

Step 1

To measure your feet, start by wearing socks you typically ride in and set a blank piece of paper on a hard, smooth surface, against a wall. Stand on the paper with your heel against the wall.

Step 2

While standing on the paper, have your friend trace your foot with a pencil taking extra care around the toe and heel areas. If someone else isn’t around, give it a try on your own!

Step 3

Flip over your piece of paper and repeat steps 1 and 2 on your other foot – you need to have measurements of both feet.

Step 4

For both feet, measure the distance from the heel line to your longest toe line and cross-reference with our sizing chart above to identify your correct size. If you are between sizes, round up to the nearest size.  If your feet are different lengths, use the longer of the two measurements.

Shoes are built around a three-dimensional mould called a last. Last shapes vary widely based on brand, shoe lines within the brand and the performance goals of the shoe, all affecting the width, depth, height and overall shoe fit. In other words, fit is about more than just your shoe size.

Trek and Bontrager offer shoes built around several different lasts to accommodate a tighter, race-ready fit, a more comfortable performance fit, wide fits and more. Here's what you need to know about our lasts to choose the shoe that's right for you.

Trek Pro Last

This last has a snug, high-performance fit that’s optimised for power transfer. This last replaces the Bontrager inForm Pro last but is slightly wider across the ball of the foot, providing a better fit for more riders.

Trek Comp Last

Get a performance fit with a little more room. Trek Comp Last replaces the Bontrager inForm Race Last but has been updated to better fit the average rider’s foot by widening the area across the ball of the foot.

Bontrager inForm
Race Last

A performance fit with a slightly roomier fit from the ball through the mid-foot.

Bontrager inForm Performance Last

A relaxed fit with a flatter foot position for more versatility and utility.

Bontrager inForm Athletic Last

A relaxed, roomier fit similar to a cross-trainer to combine on-bike and off-bike comfort.

Find your perfect insole

Cycling shoes help you get the most power out of every pedal stroke, and they can do an even better job when every part of your foot is supported. To give your foot the support it needs, insoles are a great addition. Here’s how to find the right insole for your foot using just two pieces of dark-coloured paper and a flat dish of water.

Step 1

Start by placing your bare foot in a small amount of water, ensuring that the entire bottom of your foot gets wet.

Step 2

Carefully place your wet foot on a on a darker piece of paper so it leaves a visual impression of your unweighted arch.

Step 3

Dry off your foot, then while the impression is wet, compare it with the Trek Arch Index below to find which of the three insole heights best fits your arch profile. Repeat the steps with your other foot.

Accessories

When it comes to cycling gear, the small stuff holds a lot of power. Think about it: a little discomfort from your gloves, socks or other accessories can have a huge impact on your mood and the quality of your ride. Bontrager always designs for comfort, but getting the right size is important. Here's how to choose Bontrager accessories that will fit and feel great on every ride.

Gloves sizing

A glove that fits properly will not constrict motion. Bontrager gloves are anatomically designed for a no-bunch fit. To find your appropriate size, measure the circumference of your hand using a cloth tape measure or a piece of string and a ruler.
