Each model in the line-up features lighter and cooler WaveCel helmet technology, with optimised cell walls that help save 15 grams and allow for a 10% larger cell for even more airflow. All Trek WaveCel MTB helmets have received a 5-star safety rating from Virginia Tech.
While developing this new line of helmets, Trek researchers sought to learn more about the unique forces and places of impact generated by trail crashes. They studied different trail surfaces to better understand if and how impacts are different on the trail vs on surfaced roads.
