What is the difference between the current frame compared to the previous version?

– the FX now shares a frame with the Dual Sport but opts for speedier 700c wheels with road-specific tyres vs Dual Sport’s multi-surface-capable 27.5 wheels and knobbier tyres
– Internal cable routing through the head tube for a clean aesthetic

What grade of aluminium is used on this bike?

Alpha Gold Aluminium

What is the fork made from?

Carbon fibre

What type of bottom bracket does it use?

Threaded, 68 mm width

What is the seat post diameter?

27.2 mm

What is the rear brake mount?

This model uses a flat mount disc brake with max 160 mm rotors front and rear.

How many water bottle mounts are on the frame?

Two: one on the seat tube and one on the down tube.

What is the wheel size?

The FX is made for 700c wheels and tyres up to 40 mm wide (with and without mudguards).

Are these bikes tubeless-compatible? What additional parts are required?

The FX 3 comes with TLR rims, but you’ll need to provide TLR tyres, valves and sealant to complete tubeless set-up.

What is the hub spacing?

Rear spacing is 135 mm x 5 mm and the front is 100 mm x 5 mm.

What is the maximum chain ring size? Minimum chain ring size?

For the 1x configuration, the maximum chain ring is 44T. While there is no minimum recommendation, running too small of a front chain ring may cause interference with the chain stay.

Can I run a 2x?

Yes. The frame will accept a 34.9 mm low band clamp-style bottom pull front derailleur. Max chain ring sizes on a 2x set-up are 46/32.

What is Shimano CUES?

CUES drivetrains utilise Shimano’s LINKGLIDE technology to greatly reduce drivetrain wear compared to non-LINKGLIDE components – up to triple the durability. LINKGLIDE also enables smoother shifting, both up and down the cassette.

Does it have any accessory mounts (kickstand, racks, mudguards, lights)?

It has rack and mudguard mounts, as well as low rider rack mounts on the fork. It also has frame bag mounts under the top tube for the Bontrager Adventure Boss frame bag (Available sizes – 5263832, 5263833, 5263834, 5263835, 5263836, 5263837).

It also has mounts for a rear mount kickstand (562609) or (W330289).

What lights are compatible?

Any standard front and rear lights will work.

Is it compatible with child seats?

No. The maximum weight rating for our MIK rear racks is 55 lb/25 kg. Child seat compatibility requires testing and labeling for a max weight rating of 60 lb/27 kg.

Is it compatible with trailers?

Yes. Make sure that there is enough axle thread/nut engagement if using an axle-mounted hitch.

Will water bottles fit with the frame bag mounted?

Depending on the water bottle size and the load of the frame-mounted bag, water bottles can fit. Both should be considered when planning for longer adventures.

Is the FX compatible with a suspension fork?

No, the FX is not compatible with a suspension fork.
