The process
Using four of Pantone’s new Dualities colors — Peach Tree, Polaris Star, English Hyacinth, and Rocky Rims — and a blank canvas of carbon fiber, our Project One painters balance contrast and cohesion to create depth and dimension reminiscent of the ever-changing sky on a long ride. Each hand-sprayed cloud burst and ambient fade is crafted one by one to ensure no two bikes are alike.
While much of the bike’s frame finds harmony between playful pastels and moody, darker hues, the seatpost demands attention with a sudden shift to ultra-deep, stormy shades. Here, our painters applied an alcohol process over uncured paint to give the scheme a shadowy, water-like pattern that subtly bridges the gap between the deepest blacks and purest whites. It’s the first time this technique has ever been used on a Trek Project One bike, but it’s sure to become a favorite.
From seat to stem, the Pantone Dualities palette and paint scheme showcases an unparalleled level of natural artistry and beauty one can normally only find by looking up.
