Trek Adventure Bags

What material are the Trek Adventure Top Tube, Trek Adventure Triangle Frame Bag, and Trek Adventure Frame Bag?

The bags are constructed of a durable, C0 DWR outer material called Ultragrid™ from Challenge Sailcloth that provides superior protection against rips, tears, punctures, and wear while being lightweight. As part of Trek’s commitment to sustainability, the outer material & inside liner are made from 100% recycled materials.

Are the Trek Adventure Top Tube, Trek Adventure Triangle Frame Bag, and Trek Adventure Frame Bag waterproof?

The Trek Adventure Bags have a water-resistant construction. They are made with waterproof fabric tested at 1500mm, but the bags are not sealed.

I’m concerned the bags and straps rubbing against the paint on my frame. What can I do to protect my frame and paint?

US only – A: Frame protection tape under straps and where the bag may contact the frame like the Lizard Skins Frame Protector Small Clear (Model: 45500) can mitigate that rub.
Global – A: Frame protection tape under straps and where the bag may contact the frame can mitigate that rub.

What is included with the Trek Adventure Top Tube Bag?

2 bolts and washers and 2 straps.

How do I attach the bag to my bike?

There are 2 attachment methods.

  • If your bike has 2 integrated frame mounts on top of the top tube, use the bolts and washers (torque to 2nm) to secure the bag to the bike. The forward facing strap is not required with the bolts, but can make the bag more secure.
  • No frame mounts, no problem! Use the straps to attach the bag to the top tube and the fork.

What is included with the bag?

3 Trek Thumbscrews and 3 straps.

How do I attach the bag to my bike?

There are 2 attachment methods.

  • For the Checkmate SLR and Checkpoint SL Gen 3, use the thumbscrews to secure the bag to the bike.
  • For all other bikes, use the straps to attach the bag to the top tube and the downtube. We recommend placing the straps as close to the thumbscrew holes as possible for a secure connection.

What if my bike has integrated frame mounts, but they don’t line up with the thumbscrew placements?

There will be situations where the Trek Adventure Triangle Frame Bag will not exactly line up with the frame mounts. Use the included straps to securely mount the bag.

How can I find the right size for any other bike?

Here are 2 methods:

  • Measure the internal triangle dimensions on your bike & match them to the dimensions for each size bag in the Spec Chart.
  • Use the sizing print out to print an exact size cutout of the bag on your standard printer. This is an excellent way to size the bag at home before you buy. See the link below:

My frame fits all 3 sizes of the Trek Adventure Triangle Frame Bag. Which size should I choose?

This is up to personal preference, but here are two factors to consider:

  • Measure the longest or tallest item you’d like to place in the bag. Check against the dimensions to ensure it will fit in the bag.
  • Compare the dimensions of the bag on your bike with a special consideration for your desired water bottle size. Many frame bags limit higher volume water bottles. Choose a size that will not limit your hydration. Side load cages are recommended if the bag is close to the top of the bottle.

What is included with the bag?

4 Trek Thumbscrews and 4 straps.

Why isn’t there a Trek Adventure Frame Bag size for XS & S frames?

Frame bags on smaller frames lead to the issue where water bottles don’t fit with the bag. We made the Triangle Frame Bag for these bikes! If you have a XS or S frame, check out the 1.0L Triangle Frame Bag for carrying capacity that lets you bring your bottles along too!
