Ultra-Iridescent – Project One ICON premium bike paint scheme

LIMITED EDITION

Unlike any other

Born out of years of experimentation and the combined artistic brainpower of Project One’s most sought-after creative experts, Chroma Ultra-Iridescent Project One ICON paint is a chrome-soaked work of art you won’t soon forget. Its lustrous colourway showcases shades of blue, purple, and orange – creating a distinct oil slick finish.

Ultra-Iridescent was one of eight Project One premium paint schemes launched at the 2,023 Tour de France – and it immediately became a fan-favourite. In a sea of bikes from around the world, there’s no doubt this jaw-dropping design stole the show. It was even raced to victory in Stage 8 of the tour by Lidl-Trek rider and World Champion Mads Pedersen, who piloted the scheme to a nail-biting finish.

Available on all premium road models. Not available on Checkmate SLR gravel platforms.

The process

The Chroma collection’s paint process is an intricate recipe that took nearly five years of trial and error to perfect. Ultra-Iridescent is especially unique as its origin story is proof that your dream bikes are the bikes of our dreams as well. Every day, our painters go above and beyond, turning their talents and passions into works of art that you’ll love riding as much as we love designing.

During a friendly creative competition in the Trek paint shop, painter Jason McGuire turned heads with a passion project he'd been working on after hours for his wife Michelle (who is also a Project One painter). Gleaming, with an eye-catching oil slick finish and a colourway that spanned the palette of a rainbow, that extraordinary ‘side’ project was none other than Ultra-Iridescent.And after a few refinements, you could say the rest is history. Jason’s design debuted at cycling’s most prestigious race in the world and has since become one of Trek’s most awe-inspiring premium paint schemes to date.
